Bag O’ Crab is a restaurant located in Portland, OR, not far from the beach. A delicious seafood boil joint with automatic waiters, the restaurant is welcoming and a joy to experience.

The original logo is a strange amalgamation of clip art; a crudely drawn crab with wings attached to it greets you as you enter, making the restaurant seem cheap.

This was a prime opportunity to explore redesigning their logo. I kept the crab motif, but created a more sophisticated version, one that would look good on a variety of merchandise and gives a sense of quality to the restaurant. To maintain the playful vibe of the restaurant, I drew the font by hand, making sure to keep the letters organic and less structured.
